Maryland Congressman Anthony Brown and Senator Michael A. Jackson joined a large group of local business and civic leaders Thursday evening at a special fundraising event to celebrate Reuben B. Collins, president of the Charles County Commissioners.
G.S. Proctor & Associates hosted the well-attended event at Red Tails Ocean Grille in Waldorf.
“The G.S. Proctor & Associates team is thrilled to see such an exceptional turnout for this event with Commissioner President Collins,” Vice President Trey Proctor said. “As we look ahead to his future re-election campaign, this support is invaluable. It’s a true endorsement of the inclusive and forward-thinking leadership that he has brought to Charles County.”
In his remarks, Brown noted that he and Collins have known each other for many years and share a similar drive and passion for public service.
Brown, a former lieutenant governor, recently announced his candidacy for Maryland attorney general, and early polls show him well-positioned in his Democratic primary race.
Jackson praised the growth that Charles County has seen during Collins’ tenure as a county commissioner and encouraged him to continue championing a responsible approach to growth that ensures the county does not outgrow the services it is able to provide.
Now in his third term as a commissioner, Collins has crafted and advocated for his “Smart City Vision” for the county to ensure just such a result in one of the state’s most affluent and evolving counties.
When Collins addressed the gathering, he thanked everyone for attending and then vowed to continue his efforts toward smart growth that keeps Charles County and its citizens in a position to thrive.
The event was co-hosted by CMI, Chaney Enterprises, DM&T Development, Meinhardt Properties, MCB Real Estate, Newton Development Company, The Law Office of Hamad S. Matin, Generation Properties LLC, Hooper & Associates, and Terry Lierman.
