We were excited to have members of our team in Denver this week for the National Conference of State Legislatures.

The event represents the nation’s largest bipartisan gathering of state legislators and their staff. It offers attendees the opportunity to engage in unique conversations about mutual policy priorities and the legislative landscape.

Vice President Trey Proctor and Associate Robert Glidewell traveled out west for the event, which was also attended by a large contingent of state and local legislators from D.C., Maryland and Virginia, as well as leaders from local businesses and nonprofit organizations.

The summit featured extensive sessions on the workforce staffing challenges that government agencies are facing, with a focus on how to develop more flexible remote work policies to better retain state workers in a tight labor market. Additional topics included supply chain and inflation-related challenges and their impact to state budgets.

G.S. Proctor & Associates, along with our sponsors BGE, WGL and Nuclear Powers Maryland, also hosted a well-attended cigar reception for the local contingent to thank them for taking the time to attend the summit and for their commitment to serving our communities.

It was a highly productive week, an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing our region and our nation, and to meet with and learn from thoughtful, dedicated leaders from coast to coast.
